Generation Corona?
Youth and (mental) health
In cooperation with TUM4Health, the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation has published a major publication on the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on children and adolescents: Generation Corona? Youth and (mental) health. The publication provides a brief summary of studies on the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, especially on the mental health of young people. It shows that the mental stress is linked to COVID-19 but also to increasing stresses in the domestic and global political sphere.
In line with this, the results of the TUM4Health health surveys (conducted in 2019 and 2021) presented in the publication also show that many students are burdened by fears about the future, stress and mental health problems, as well as eating disorders, weight problems and sleep disorders.
The aim of the publication is to raise awareness of the special situation of young people and to learn from the COVID-19 Pandemic with a view to future crises.
The publication Generation Corona? Youth and (mental) health can be found here.

TUM4Health Survey 2.0

Now, we would like to start another round and ask for your participation! We are interested in evaluating students' health changes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Results will be used to improve our offers and adapt them to the current needs.

Boost your Energy with Mindfulness
Do you often find it difficult to be fully aware in the present moment without thinking about what you have to do in an hour? Tomorrow? Next week? Does your mind tend to focus more on negative thoughts than positive ones? Do you wish you responded better to stress? Or, have you ever wanted to practice mindfulness, but did not know how to start? If you answered yes to any of these questions, enrolling in a mindfulness course may be ideal for you! The concept of mindfulness has been seen to not only decrease negative thoughts and feelings of those who partake in its practice, but also to improve overall mental well-being. Whether watching a mindfulness meditation video, journaling, or practicing yoga, mindfulness can be experienced in numerous ways in life. In this course, you will participate in a free eight-week mindfulness program aimed at increasing positive thoughts, self-confidence and concentration, as well as decreasing stress, anxiety and negative emotion.

Are you interested? If so, please contact Madison Ehmann mindfulnessattum@gmail.com for further information on how to sign up!
