Prevention day winter semester 19/20

The Prevention Day on January 24th, 2020 by TUM4Health

After the 2019 summer festival at the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, an action day with the motto “From students for students” was also held this year as part of the “Student Self-Management of Health” course. We have made it our mission to give students helpful tips for a health-promoting everyday life.
In keeping with the motto, there were the following stands: nutrition, muscle function analysis, measurement of various health parameters, aging simulation, boxing and yoga:
  • Healthy eating

In everyday student life, a healthy diet often falls by the wayside. Due to time pressure, we often resort to fast food. That's why we created short cooking videos and presented them on the day of the campaign. You could also take part in an interesting nutrition quiz and classify foods according to their sugar content. With the help of a self-designed hub, the students had the opportunity to compare different products based on their calorie content and thus find incentives for healthy alternatives.

  • Muscle function analysis

In order to get to know the body better, we carried out various muscle function tests with the participants in order to determine shortening.

  • Aging simulation

How do you feel in 50 years? The students were able to experience this in our parkour.

  • Push yourself through your studies

To compensate for the sedentary lifestyle, we have offered different boxing challenges.

  • Yoga

A short yoga session should not be missed on a varied day of action.
