TUM4Health Action Day "Day of Sleep"

On the occasion of the German Day of Sleep, an action day on the topic of "healthy sleep" took place on 21 June 2022 at the Prevention Centre, TUM Campus in the Olympic Park. This day was part of the sub-project "Sleep and Recovery" of the student health management TUM4Health.

Through various quizzes, the students were able to test their knowledge on the topic of sleep, find out whether they are a morning, evening or normal type and learn more about the meaning of chronotypes. Postcards with a checklist for the morning and evening routine as well as a science comic "Our internal clock - how the body recognizes the time" from the Chronobiology & Health team were available for the students to take home.

Did you miss our action day but still want to find out information about your chronotype?

The poster walk with results from the TUM4Health health survey gave participants the opportunity to find out more about the state of health of TUM students. The TUMmel-Box was also available with a variety of sports equipment which invited to take an active break.

The "Techniker Krankenkasse" (health insurance), the health partner of TUM4Health, was also present with their health module “pupillography sleep analysis”. The daytime sleepiness and loss of concentration could be measured by pupillography, a test procedure in which the pupil size and its fluctuations are observed. The procedure was carried out with darkened glasses. The task of the participating students was to focus on a green, luminous point in the otherwise dark glasses for about 4-6 minutes. The higher the fluctuations of the pupil, the higher the drowsiness. After completing the measurement, the participants received recommendations for optimizing their sleep health and ability to regenerate.

We thank all participants for their visit and their interest - we look forward to the next TUM4Health event!
