Eye massage

Relaxing the eyes

Does the following sound familiar: blurry vision during the lecture and no amount of blinking clears your vision?

Our eyes make up a large part of our sensory impressions, so we think they deserve more attention.

In the following paragraph I am going to refer to the book "Schutz der Augen bei der Bildschirmarbeit" (protecting the eyes during VDU work) by Bruno Klumpp.

The protective function of our eyes is permanent and reliable. Doing small exercises can make a large difference and help our eyes relax.

tip for people wearing glasses:

Perform these exercises without your glasses or contacts.

1. Take breaks and create variety (up to 10 min per hour) - stand up and get moving

2. put your palms over your eyes for 1-2 min

3. different types of massages:

a. massage for people wearing glasses:

Grab the root of your nose with your thumb and middle finger and at the same time place your index finger between your eyebrows. Now move your three fingers towards and away from each other, applying light pressure.

b. The forehead-ear line: Place the middle fingers of both hands on the center of the forehead and make small circular movements. Again, apply light pressure and move your fingers over the temples to the lower base of the ears.

4. Rinse your eyes using cold and clear water.
